4th of July

We had such a great 4th of July weekend and we did a lot of training.

On Friday we went to the local park for a 4th of July event. There were a ton of people, bouncy houses of all shapes and sizes, face painting, activity stations, a great band playing and food. Luke and Ara worked so well together.  We did get stopped when we got there and asked if Luke was a service dog. I told them he was an Service Dog in Training (in MT SDiT have the same access as service dogs) and they said great have a good time. Ara was able to wait in the lines, maneuver easily through the crowds, and keep calm.  Luke did have a few moments that showed me what we need to work on. He did not like when Ara went into a certain type of bouncy house. He could hear her but could not see her and he kept trying to stand up and on his hind legs to see her...so we will need to work on separation. He also got excited at one of the activities areas that had basketballs, so another thing we will work on.

After the park we came home and got ready for the fireworks. We sat at the end of our driveway and watched the show. Luke fell asleep through them and even when our next door neighbor sent some huge ones up over us he did not flinch. He was off duty during the fireworks, since I did not know how he would react. Here are some pictures from our day
